Facebook reminded me that my (Jamie) birthday is coming up on the first and recommended that I choose a charitable organization for people to send money to in my honor. It’s kind of fitting that my birthday falls on Giving Tuesday.
I started to look into the organizations and how much goes to Facebook vs what goes to charity. In setting up a custom fundraiser, I found that Facebook takes over 30% in fees!!
Anyway, I figured since we are still raising support for our ministry that I would ask for donations to be sent directly to our organization.
Giving is simple. Go to this website, https://www.uim.org/page/donate-online, and follow the instructions for the way you prefer to give. When giving, indicate “Jamie Wero Birthday” in the box. For every $100 given, we will give an additional $10 to help provide Christmas dinner for a family in need.
